March News Letter
March 7th 2024
Dear Friends
How are you? How is your journey through Lent as we draw ever nearer to Holy Week and on to Easter Sunday. This is such a special time of year as we thank God for the power of the cross and our Christian faith as we rejoice that Jesus is the Saviour of the world. In the very troubled world of today may we use every opportunity to saturate people in the United Kingdom and across the world in prayer and alongside our praying trust that through our actions, however small, we can make a difference to the lives of other people.
There are opportunities in the coming weeks for us to invite people to come and hear the Word of God and enjoy what it means to be part of a worshipping Christian community.

Thank you to everyone who supported the World Day of Prayer service in person on 1st March and through accessing the live stream. We thank Bob for facilitating that and if you would like to access the streamed service it is still possible to do so. After the service we gave details of the Olive Tree Project as promoted by Embrace the Middle East. More information can be found by going to embraceme.org/olivetreeproject.
Our successful litter pick on 25th February inspired some of us to commit to the Big Plastic Count from 11th to 17th March as mentioned in my last letter. It is not too late to decide to do it and we will have the information in church on Sunday for anyone who would like it. We anticipate another litter pick in April.
50 pencil cases have been knitted within the immediate church family and beyond for the children in Malawi supported by Starfish. We thank everyone who has been knitting and everyone who has contributed pencils and other items to go in the cases. Thank you too for the Easter eggs which are coming in for the Easter egg hunt on 30th March.
Please pray for the Synod Together meeting in Cheam this Saturday, 9th March and for the meeting of the Kent and East Sussex Synod Area on the afternoon of 17th March in Ashford
